A business plan consultant for companies raising money or approval

Wills Business works as a business plan consultant to owners and management teams in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE who need a plan that a bank, an investor, a board or a licensing authority will act on. We write the plan, build the financial model behind it, and prepare the pitch material, so the numbers in the deck, the document and the spreadsheet are the same numbers. The plan is written for the reader who decides, not for the shelf.

Thirty minutes. No deck. A senior consultant replies.

Who commissions a business plan from us

Companies raising debt or equity. You are going to an Egyptian or Gulf bank for a facility, to a family office or fund for equity, or to an existing shareholder for a further round. Each reader wants the same things: a credible market, a management team that knows its numbers, and a model they can interrogate.

Companies that need a plan for an approval. A board that will not release capital without one. A parent company reviewing a subsidiary. A UAE free zone authority or bank that asks for a business plan as part of a licence or account application.

Owners who have the idea and the market but not the document. You know the business. You do not have the time, or the modelling skill, to turn what you know into fifty pages and a three-statement model that survives a credit committee.

What you get

A business plan engagement with Wills Business delivers:

  1. The business plan document: executive summary, company and ownership, market and competition, product or service, go-to-market, operations, management team, financial plan, funding ask and use of funds, risks. Written to the length and format the reader expects, in English, Arabic or both.
  2. A three-statement financial model in Excel: income statement, balance sheet and cash flow for five years, monthly for the first two, with every assumption on one input sheet. Debt schedules, covenant tests and sensitivity tables where a bank is the reader.
  3. An investor pitch deck: 12 to 15 slides that follow the plan and carry the same numbers, built for a thirty-minute meeting.
  4. A one-page summary or teaser for first contact with investors or lenders.
  5. Bank and authority versions where required: the plan reformatted to the template of the institution you are applying to.
  6. Preparation for questions: the list of questions a credit committee or investor is likely to ask, with the answers and the model outputs that support them.

Financial modelling is also available on its own, for companies that have written the plan but need the model built or rebuilt to a standard a lender will accept.

How the work runs

  1. Scoping (week 1). We agree who the plan is for, what they require, what you already have and the fee. You receive a written scope.
  2. Inputs (weeks 2 to 3). Working sessions with you and your finance lead. Market data from our own research and regional sources. Cost and pricing assumptions checked against suppliers and competitors.
  3. Model first (weeks 3 to 5). The financial model is built and reviewed with you before a word of the narrative is written. If the numbers do not work, you find out here, not in the meeting.
  4. Plan and deck (weeks 5 to 7). Draft plan and pitch deck, one review cycle, final versions and a rehearsal of the investor or bank presentation if you want one.

What goes wrong without a proper plan

  • The template plan. Downloaded headings, generic text, a revenue line that grows 30 percent a year because the template said so. Lenders in Cairo and Dubai see hundreds of these and stop at page two.
  • Narrative and numbers disagree. The deck says one thing, the model says another, and the investor spends the meeting reconciling them instead of deciding.
  • A model nobody can open. Hard-coded figures, no input sheet, circular references. The bank's analyst cannot change one assumption and gives up.
  • Funding ask without a use of funds. "We are raising this amount" with no bridge from the money to the milestones it buys. This is the most common reason a first meeting has no second meeting.

Frequently asked questions

How do I write a business plan? Start with the reader and what they need to decide. Then build the financial model before the narrative, so the story follows the numbers. Cover the market with evidence, not adjectives. Keep the funding ask and the use of funds on the same page. If you would rather have it done, that is what this service is for.

What does a business plan consultant do that a business plan writer does not? A writer produces the document. A consultant tests the business first: the market size, the pricing, the cost base, the funding structure. Where an assumption does not hold, we tell you before the plan is written. The document is the last step, not the first.

How much does a business plan cost? Fixed fee per scope, quoted in writing after the scoping call. The fee depends on whether a model already exists, how much market research the plan needs, and how many versions and readers are involved. No price list, because two plans with the same title rarely involve the same work.

Can you build only the financial model? Yes. Financial modelling services are scoped on their own for companies that have a plan and need a three-statement model, a debt schedule or a valuation-ready model built to a lender's standard.

Do you prepare investor pitch decks? Yes, as part of the plan or on their own. The deck follows the plan and carries the same numbers as the model. We also prepare the question list and rehearse the presentation with you.

Is a business plan the same as a feasibility study? No. A feasibility study is written before the decision and asks whether the project should be built. A business plan is written after the decision and describes how the business will operate, grow and be funded. Many clients commission the study first and the plan once the project is approved.
